Baggage Check. . .
We walk through life like overpacked travelers, dragging emotional luggage we never stop to unpack.
Old arguments that replay themselves. Expectations we never agreed to. Versions of ourselves we outgrew but still try to live up to.
The strange part is, no one told us to carry all of this. We just kept picking things up along the way. A comment here. A disappointment there. A story we told ourselves that became permanent.
And over time, it starts to feel normal.
But there is a quiet freedom in asking, “Do I still need this?”
Not everything deserves a lifelong lease in your mind. Some things were meant to pass through, not settle in.
Letting go doesn’t mean something didn’t matter. It doesn’t erase the experience. It simply means it no longer gets to weigh you down.
You don’t have to drop everything at once. Just one thing. One thought. One story.
Today, notice what you’re carrying.
Then gently, deliberately, set one thing down.
Peace and Love, Jim
