Grounded. . .

Service grounds practice in compassion.

It takes the insights we touch in stillness and presses them gently into the soil of everyday life. When we serve without seeking recognition or reward, the tight grip of self begins to soften. In those moments, kindness is no longer an idea—it becomes meditation in motion.

Through service, wisdom steps off the cushion and into the world. Listening deeply, offering help, showing up when it’s inconvenient—these are not distractions from practice; they are the practice. They reveal how awareness expresses itself as care.

Service also reminds us that awakening is not solitary. We wake up with one another. Our liberation is braided together, shaped by relationship, vulnerability, and shared humanity. Each small act of care—seen or unseen—becomes a quiet vow to ease suffering where we can.

In this way, service steadies us. It keeps practice honest, humble, and alive.

Each act of care is a step on the path.

Peace and Love, Jim
