Un-busy. . .
Our schedules are overflowing, our devices buzzing — but often it’s not our lives that are too busy; it’s our minds.
Busyness of the mind is a form of resistance — a way to avoid what stillness might show us. We fill every quiet moment so we don’t have to face our own uncertainty, our own longing, our own truth.
To “unbusy” the mind doesn’t mean escaping the world. It means meeting it from a quieter center. It’s learning to rest while moving, to stay spacious even when life feels full.
Meditation is one path, but even pausing to breathe before you speak, or setting down your phone for five minutes, begins to declutter the mental noise.
Remember: you are not your thoughts. You are the sky — and thoughts are just passing clouds. Let them drift. Beneath it all, you are vast, open, and free.
Unbusy the mind, and the heart will have room to speak again.
Thought for the day: What’s something you often think about that you give more thinking time to than effort? Can you shift something into action and not just anxiety?
Peace and Love, Jim
