Under-siege. . .

Outrage performs well in 2026.

Anger spreads faster than nuance. Content designed to provoke travels quickly. Algorithms reward emotional intensity.

But the nervous system pays the cost.

The Buddha compared anger to grasping a hot coal with the intention of throwing it at someone else. You burn first.

Constant exposure to outrage conditions the body. Elevated cortisol. Tightened muscles. Shallow breath. The mind begins to expect conflict.

Ask yourself:

Is this information necessary?

Or is it stimulating agitation?

This does not mean disengaging from injustice. It means discerning between meaningful engagement and habitual outrage consumption.

Not every controversy requires your emotional investment.

The path of awakening involves guarding the mind. If your mental diet consists primarily of anger, your internal state will reflect it.

Choose carefully what you allow to shape your perception.

Courage does not require constant fury.

Strength can be calm.

Peace and Love, Jim
