Unwrapped. . .
There is joy in giving gifts, but Buddhism reminds us that the most meaningful offerings are the ones delivered from the heart.
Generosity—dāna—is not measured by cost or size, but by presence, sincerity, and intention.
This season, see if you can gift something unwrapped: forgiveness, encouragement, quality time, or genuine listening. These are often the gifts people remember long after the boxes are recycled.
Practice: Before gifting anything—physical or emotional—ask: Does this gift lighten the heart—mine or another’s?
Peace and Love, Jim
