Doorway. . .
No one escapes pain. But in Buddhism, suffering is not a curse — it’s a teacher. It reveals where we are still attached, still grasping, still afraid.
When we meet suffering with awareness, it becomes a doorway to compassion. Pain softens the ego, humbles the heart, and reminds us of our shared humanity.
Avoiding suffering often prolongs it. But when we stay with it — breathe through it, feel it fully — we discover that pain has edges, and beyond those edges lies understanding.
The Buddha didn’t promise a life free of pain; he offered a path to freedom through it. Every difficulty, every heartbreak, carries a hidden invitation: to awaken, to soften, to love more deeply.
Don’t waste your suffering. Let it open the door to your own awakening.
Peace and Love, Jim
