Modern Karma. . .

Karma is often misunderstood as fate or punishment — a cosmic scoreboard tallying our good and bad deeds. But the Buddha taught karma more simply: our intentions shape our experience.

Each thought, word, and action plants a seed. Over time, those seeds grow into the life we live. Karma isn’t about reward or punishment — it’s about cause and effect. When we act with awareness, we cultivate peace. When we act from ignorance, we plant confusion.

In modern life, karma looks like this: the tone of your conversations, the patience you show in traffic, the honesty you bring to work, the kindness you offer strangers. Every moment is a chance to create harmony or disharmony — within and around you.

So don’t fear karma; work with it. Be conscious of what you plant. Life will always return the flavor of your intention.

Peace and Love, Jim
