Moving. . .

We have all heard of the concept of “moving forward” but what does the actually mean? Is it just a trajectory? A direction of travel? or something more?

Moving forward in life” generally signifies continuing to progress and grow despite challenges, rather than stagnating or relapsing into the past. It involves taking action, setting goals, and finding meaning in the ongoing narrative of one’s life, often with a sense of hope and optimism. This can also include learning from past mistakes, letting go of hurt feelings, and striving to live a full and happy life.

Here’s a more detailed breakdown:

Finding Hope:Moving forward often implies having a sense of hope and optimism about the future.

Embracing the Future:It’s about looking ahead and envisioning a positive future, rather than being stuck in the past or feeling overwhelmed by the present.

Taking Action:Moving forward requires taking steps, making choices, and actively pursuing goals.

Overcoming Obstacles:It involves resilience and the ability to overcome challenges, setbacks, and difficulties.

Finding Meaning:Moving forward can also mean finding purpose and a sense of meaning in life, even amidst hardship.

Growth and Learning:It’s about continuously learning, adapting, and evolving as a person.

Letting Go:It can involve letting go of anger, resentment, or past mistakes to make room for positive growth and relationships.

So in many ways “moving forward” often requires us to take a step back, look at the journey and the steps we have taken thus far. Then we can plant our next steps in a more meaningful way and walk our path not only with intention, but insight.
