Sometimes in life we find ourselves having an off moment, or periods of time where we just can’t seem to pull it all together. A speed bump in the road if you will.

I happen to be driving my wife’s car one day (it has very low front foils) and I was navigating through a parking lot and had to carefully negotiate some rather large and intrusive speed bumps. The thought struck me in one of those off hand ways – Why am I having to get over this speed bump, can’t I just go around it?

After repeating the question in my head it began to resonate with me – we all have to get over our metaphoric speed bumps in life just as we meticulously navigate our hurdles in life. There is no “go around” and so we must forge ahead and overcome those bumps in the road.

What we need to remember is that few things in life are worth dwelling on. We should try to learn to deal with our bumps and overcome them. When a problem is put in front of us it is attitude and awareness that get us through and not worry and dwelling.

Life is full of sped bumps. Getting over them is not about speed. It’s about the simple process of figuring out whats in front of you, why it’s there and how to overcome it. Life is motion and we will overcome bumps for it’s duration, being prepared and knowing this can the process effective and yes even rewarding.

Life’s up and downs provide windows of opportunity to determine your values and goals. Think of using all obstacles as stepping stones to build the life you want!

Peace and Love, Jim
