The Journey Together. . .
For many, Buddhism begins with a doorway – perhaps a book, a meditation class, or amoment of personal crisis.
We step through and discover the Four Noble Truths, the EightfoldPath, the breath as an anchor. But as years turn into decades, something shifts. We find that the Dharma has woven itself into our bones. Practice no longer feels like an appointment – it becomes the very way we perceive the world. And yet, even for those who have walked this path for decades, the road does not flatten.
The terrain changes. The challenges evolve. Attachment hides in subtler corners. Compassion grows heavy without balance. Emptiness deepens, but so does the temptation tomisunderstand it.
This week I wish to offer some deeper reflections written for those who have lived in the Dharma long enough to see its seasons.
They are not beginner’s instructions, but reminders for those who already know the way – yet also know that “knowing” is the most dangerous illusion of all.
In these writings, we’ll look at subtler knots of attachment, the danger and beauty of emptiness, the discipline of silence, the paradox of compassion fatigue, the humility of non-interference, the wisdom in aging, and the seamless merging of practice and life.
This is not a journey toward something. It is a journey into what is already here – the simple, direct experience of this very breath. So please tune in, subscribe, comment and share from your personal journey – this is where we begin – together
Peace and Love, Jim
