Beethoven is called a genius to this day. But we need to be aware that his genius (and many others) was based on incredibly consistent effort.

Whatever our purpose and mission in life, successful outcomes always come down to hard work, to tenacious efforts. We cannot become the next steps in our life if we just keep thinking things will somehow just fall into place (understanding our life takes effort). Accordingly, Beethoven’s motto was “No day without a line.” Every day without fail, he wrote music. He would not let even a single day pass without holding to his goal of writing, be it a line or entire symphony.

To continue every day – this is just like our practice of Buddhism. Making persistent efforts each day is a source of tremendous joy, knowledge and strength.

Peace and Love, Jim
