Thoughts Rule. . .
“We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.” – The Buddha
Watch your thoughts; think of them as actual things rather than imaginary constructs. This helps you to understand how powerful they can really be. Coming down on yourself only hinders you and holds you back. Thoughts are powerful creations that shape our lives. Take a step back and really look at your successes and failures then focus on the mindsets you held for each. Wouldn’t you say that your failures informed you how to be successful? That’s true of all endeavors. Keep on working, and move on to the next step. It’s all just part of the process.
This is where the concept of mindfulness can be fully realized. Mindfulness fosters an ability to see what we deeply value, and what we find most interesting and enjoyable, mindfulness promotes more carefully chosen goals. There is no solid evidence that I’m aware of that mindfulness promotes goal achievement, but we have [unpublished] evidence that it promotes more satisfaction with one’s goal achievement and more enjoyment in the pursuit of those goals and the mindset required to achieve our success.
