Traffic Temple. . .

We often think of spiritual practice as something reserved for quiet spaces—a cushion, a gong, maybe incense and silence. But life doesn’t give us many curated moments. The car horn, the crowded subway, the unexpected detour—these are our teachers.

Instead of reacting, try observing.

Traffic becomes a mirror, revealing our patterns: impatience, control, ego. But also, possibility. With each red light, we’re gifted a pause. With each delay, we can breathe deeply.

Buddhism teaches us that the path is everywhere, not just in temples. Even in traffic, we can choose presence over pressure. The commute isn’t a waste—it’s a walking meditation on wheels.

Peace and Love, Jim
