Beethoven was considered a genius. Its important to be aware that his genius was based on incredibly diligent and consistent effort. We can say that these same values would serve us well upon our own life path –  It all comes down to consistent work and appreciative efforts.

You cannot reach your next level goals if you have a passive auto-piolit mode of operation. Accordingly, Beethoven’s motto was “No day without a line.” Every day without fail, it was his own unique approach to writing music. He would not let even a single day pass without working assiduously. To continue every day – this is just like our practice of buddhism. Making persistent efforts each day is a source of tremendous strength and the very tool used as we walk through this life not only learning, but contributing and growing as the fine composers we are.

Peace and Love, Jim
