Consider the concept of opposition? Not just in simple terms of teams or outdated concepts such as “us and them” but in a greater context – engages, moments and/or life not flowing with you.

Now consider if you had “no opposition” in life – ever. You never struggled or had to reach beyond your limits for anything. What would that mean? How would you develop from such an environment?

Opposition is actually in place so that we can recognize growth, so we can realize that we have moved forward, overcame something and grew in the process. A state in which we are free from problems or constraints is not happiness. Happiness is transcending all opposition and obstacles and growing from the moments that opposition gives us.

I always recall a saying my instructors shared with me – Don’t be afraid of difficulty; the tallest trees are always confronted by the strongest winds.

Peace and Love, Jim
